Fraq’s Lobster Shack Review | Bringing The Seaside To London
The only thing London is missing that would make it the perfect city is a beach.
At least we can kind of pretend with Fraqs Lobster Shack.
And don’t be fooled by ‘shack’. It’s pretty big for a shack with plenty of seating. Not to mention a whole lot nicer inside than the name would suggest.
Everything from the lanternesque pier light fittings to the wood paneling effect on the walls can’t help but fool you into thinking you’re somewhere on the coast like Brighton.
I can’t think of many more classier fillings for a roll than lobster. Fraq’s offers chucks of lobster which I prefer. Shredded lobster loses its luxurious appeal for me.
The Boston Lobster roll (£7.95) comes with a choice of butter, garlic mayo and chilli mayo sauce. I had the chilli mayo sauce which gives the fresh salad a kick.
And it’s nice to be given the option of eating with knife and fork out with your hands (a wet wipe is provided).
It’s hard to judge whether £7.95 is decent value as we’re talking about lobster. I recommend and regret not ordering a side or desert as the regular lobster roll on its own is only adequate for a quick bite (menu). A regular lobster roll and chips meal is £9.90 while the XL Boston Lobster roll is £14.90…
Other options include lobster soup, lobster salad, and even a whole lobster (£25).
Fraqs is a casual place to enjoy a glass of champagne and lobster without feeling the need to get all dressed up. They also offer frozen cocktails and bourbons. Just a homemade lemonade for me (why oh why do I have to be non alcoholic!).http://www.elitetravelblog.com/fraqs-lobster-shack-review-london/London Food ReviewsfitzroviaThe only thing London is missing that would make it the perfect city is a beach.
