Full English breakfasts on plates are so yesterday. Bunnychow are serving a South African twist on this traditional British favourite.

There isn’t a lot open early Sunday morning in London. Even the shops on Oxford street had their shutters down when I arrived at 10.30.

But Bunnychow aren’t having a lie in. Open at 10 on Sundays, they’re serving their award winning Full English Breakfast. If you’ve never had a Bunnychow, let me explain.

Each dish’s ingredients are packed into a hollowed out cylindrical bread loaf. Nature’s bowl if you will. You’re probably thinking ‘isn’t that difficult to eat’? Let Bunnychow hold your hand and advise you how to eat a bunny chow.

I’m a diver.

The Full English Breakfast bunnychow packs a sausage, beans, black pudding, mushrooms egg and bacon into the bread (see the full Bunnychow menu for more or read my Monkey Gland review).

Drooling much?

The outcome is the accumulative juice from the ingredients soaking into the bread without penetrating the crusty outside.

A Full English Breakfast Bunnychow and a cup of tea (Twinnings English breakfast) costs only £5.50. Bargain.

I also had the chance to try the spicy lamb popcorn which is their own recipe. Meat flavoured popcorn? Yes please.

It’s great to see a street food truck graduate to a permanent location – their popularity is well deserved.
