London Riviera Review, Southbank | Pop Up Ice Cream, Golden Pineapple Club & Flamingos
Flamingos. Now there’s a sight you don’t see in London
very often ever.
Fear not, the residents of Flamino Land (yup, it’s a real place alright) have not escaped and taken over Southbank.
The plastic flamingos are part of London Riviera, a pop up bar and restaurant which brings influences from Miami and the French Riviera together. That’s quite a combination I think you’ll agree.
Brought to you by MoreLondon (who hold a number of fantastic free events and festivals during the summer including movie screenings) London Riviera serves up fantastic Levantine cuisine, craft beers, cocktails, fresh press juices and wines from CRU Kafe and CERU restaurant.
It was a roasting summers day so cooling down with some ice cream seemed like a good idea. Ice cream is always a good idea.
Honeycomb ice cream may be the only flavour on offer, but you don’t need any others it’s that good. Toppings are a choice of Turkish Delight, chocolate and Popping Candy (£4) or Baklava toppings (roast nut brittle & burnt honey caramel)(£4.50). I had the latter and it was delicious. Sat on a sunlounger in the London summer heat with a great view of Tower Bridge – does it get any better than this?
London Riviera adds some much needed colour and fun to grey and formal buildings around City Hall and Scoop Amphitheatre.
There are also Ciroc school of mixology classes every Wednesday, where you’ll learn to create the perfect summer Ciroc Summer Punch and a bottomless brunch on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
So relax along the riverside under a parasol or on the sunbeds made for two and enjoy what’s left of summer in London.
Make sure you sign up to become a member of the Golden Pineapple Club and you’ll receive a free welcome cocktail, free coffee from CRU Kafe, exclusive food and drink offers and even a Golden Pineapple badge!
London Riviera runs everyday 8am – 10pm until 31 October.
