Why do you love travel?

I believe that travelling makes you see things from a whole new perspective. Having travelled a lot and lived in different countries, travelling has made me so much stronger as a person and it’s given me so much self-belief and confidence over the past couple of years. Living in Paris was one of the best years of my life as I made it my goal to seize and seek every opportunity I could find and make the most of my time there. Ever since, I’ve realised that there are few barriers in life and if you really put your mind to something, nothing is impossible. Travelling forces you to push your boundaries in the best possible way, and I think seeing and experiencing the world is something that you will never regret!

What destination is top of your bucket list?

My boyfriend and I have been travelling around Southeast Asia for the past 2 months, so we’re ticking destinations off our bucket list every few weeks! Vancouver is a place that I’ve wanted to visit for a long time – I’m a city girl at heart but I love beach and the mountains too, so this seems like the perfect place! Fortunately, we’ve managed to get a working holiday visa in Canada for 2015 so that’s our next destination to tick off after we’ve finished backpacking around Asia!

Where is your favourite place you have travelled to?

That’s a hard question, I have too many favourites! I visited Hawaii earlier this year and absolutely loved it. The wildlife and scenery is incredible, and swimming with sea turtles and seeing humpback whales was definitely a highlight! Another place that holds a place in my heart is Borneo. It’s somewhere that my boyfriend and I have wanted to visit for a long time, and it’s definitely the pinnacle of our trip around Southeast Asia so far. Seeing wild orangutans was an absolutely magical moment, and Borneo itself is a wonderful place full of diversity and so much wildlife that you can’t find anywhere else.

What is your favourite memory or experience whilst travelling?

My favourite memory so far is seeing wild orangutans in Borneo. It’s always been a dream of ours to see them in the wild, but that dream becoming a reality was just amazing. We were making our way through the jungle in Sepilock and we spotted a huge male Orangutan in the trees, perhaps 4 or 5 metres away from us. Matt and I were the only people around which made it so special, and we got some amazing shots too. We also recently climbed Mount Kinabalu in Borneo, one of the tallest mountains in Southeast Asia, which was an amazing experience. It was of course extremely challenging and it involved a lot of will power and motivation especially when we had to wake up at 2am to climb to the summit, but it was an incredible achievement at the end of it! It was one of those experiences that really made us realise that together we can conquer anything, so now we’re looking into other mountains that we can climb once our poor legs have recovered!

What is your favourite photo from your travels?

If I could choose just one, it would have to be this shot that I took in Northern Vietnam. It was the first time that we’d seen monkeys in the wild, so seeing these baby macaques running around on the island was absolutely brilliant!
