Why do you love travel?
My top reason for travelling would be to explore a new place getting to know the people, culture and landscape. I believe that travel is a form of education; I’ve learned so much about myself and life from travelling. In this way, I think that travel has really changed me. It’s broadened my horizons and opened my eyes to different ways of living. All this experience from travelling has truly given my life meaning and in turn brought me so much happiness!
What destination is top of your bucket list?
Fiji is definitely at the top of my bucket list!
Where is your most favourite place you have travelled to?
My favourite place I’ve visited so far is Kerala, India. My father is from there, but has spent most of his life in the USA. I finally got to my roots at the age of 25 and it was a truly life changing experience for me. I met family members and saw places where my father grew up! I even got to visit his house where he grew up in a small village in Kerala. It didn’t look the same as when he was growing up, but it was still a truly magical experience for me.
What is your most favourite memory or experience whilst travelling?
My favourite memory is when I met my pen pal from Sri Lanka. My father loves typewriters and I saw an older man (around the age of 70) typing away on his in a tiny village in Sri Lanka. I went over and asked him if I could take a photo with him for my father. He said yes and after typed something on his typewriter and handed me a note that said, “please send me copy of photograph” and his address. We’ve been in touch ever since sending postcards and letters to each other. He even invited my family & I to visit him in Sri Lanka. I hope to take him up on his offer soon!
What is your favourite photo from your travels?
