It’s a first for our travel blogger interview series – a travelling couple answer our Five Travel Questions! Aspiring scientists Dan and Soph have known each other for around nine years. In that time they’ve travelled to Venice and more exotic destinations such as Madagascar. Read on to find out what favourite moment happened in Madagascar and more!
Why do you love travel?
Travelling is a great method of exploration. It provides us with the opportunity to interact with different cultures, different landscapes and of course different people. It broadens the mind, increases our knowledge base and makes for great stories to be told later in life. Often, the best experiences are those that are unplanned.
What destination is top of your bucket list?
Dan – For me, it has to be Costa Rica primarily because it is so rich in animal life.
Soph – That’s a tough one, I’m yet to go to Asia but I love Central and South America so I’m torn!
Where is your most favourite place you have travelled to?
Dan – Although brief, it has to be Venice because of it’s total uniqueness.
Soph – I think I might also have to say Venice, this might explain a little more.
What is your most favourite memory or experience whilst travelling?
Dan – Having a Lemur jumping onto my back and eating a Banana from my hand in Madagascar. There were some pretty spectacular sunsets here too.
Soph – I love trips that go back to basics, whether it’s sleeping in a hammock whilst trekking through the jungle in Honduras or walking in Cotopaxi National Park with views like this…
What is your favourite photo from your travels?
Soph – I think it might have to be the one above! (Cotopaxi, Ecuador)
Dan – glaciers surrounding the Matterhorn, Switzerland
