We pleased to have Danielle from Like Riding A Bicycle answer our Five Travel Questions. She made the brave/crazy decision to pack up and head for… well even she didn’t know. Let see where she’s seen on her travels!
Why do you love travel?
I love travel as it allows me to meet people from all different cultures and walks of life, some with the same ideas as me whereas others are completely different, which fascinates me. I love seeing new places, and quite honestly, I’m a nomad; I just can’t stop moving. To date, I’ve been on the road for four years (and counting!)
What destination is top of your bucket list?
That’s so hard – there are so many! I remember as a child always dreaming of going to Greece, so I’d love to hit that up. But basically I want to go… everywhere.
Where is your most favourite place you have travelled to?
Hands down, Zipolite, Mexico. It’s a small beach town, the entire town located on the beach. For bonus points the whole beach is clothing optional, which I adore. It’s a beautiful place with likeminded people, and everyone seems to get along despite our differences. Many people liken the town to a place stuck in the sixties.
What is your most favourite memory or experience whilst travelling?
Again, so many to choose from! One of my favourites was being picked up hitchhiking in Scotland by a man named Kieron. Before we knew it we’d driven five hours out of his way, before it was time for him to drop me off and head home. The following weekend, Kieron contacted me to meet up and adventure again… and the same thing happened the next weekend. We wound up travelling through Scotland, England, and Wales together, and now, almost two years later, he’s come to Guatemala to galavant around and reunite! By far the best friend I’ve made hitchhiking, and friends are the best memories you can have!
What is your favourite photo from your travels?
My favourite photo is a view looking out on a lake in New Zealand!
