Why do you love travel?
Well, that’s a question! I always wonder why people would not love it 😉
The main thing for me is connecting to new people. Getting to know their culture and view on the world. Sometimes having long conversations, sometimes just talking with hands and feet. But always with a big smile.
And freedom is a big part of the happiness travel gives me! It makes me really productive and creative. Most of the things I do back home I initiated while I was traveling.
Going around gives me energy, even while sleeping in the crappiest beds 😉
What destination is top of your bucket list?
Tibet and Bhutan. Even though I’ve visited Asia a lot already.
They just trigger my imagination so much! It’s hard to grasp what it is exactly. Maybe it is because it is a bit harder to reach and all the pictures I see are so amazing, it really keeps stuck in my head.
Where is your most favourite place you have travelled to?
Myanmar. I went there twice. First with my best travel companion, and later alone. It was my first woman solo travel, and I loved every minute of it! I met so many great, friendly people here. That’s the best in Myanmar!
What is your most favourite memory or experience whilst travelling?
We were in Myanmar and a monk invited us to his monastery. It was our last day in the country so we thought: why not?! It appeared to be the birthday of the oppermonk. We were the only outsiders, enjoying all the monks getting together, praying, eating.
At the end I saw a little school class. Took some pictures of them and gave them a polaroid. I never leave without my polaroidcam! They were so cute holding the picture!
What is your favourite photo from your travels?
I could choose a lot of great polaroid moments here, but let’s go for something else:
For my brand new vlog I travel around the world, but also explore my own country. I’d never been to the keukenhof. Even being a Dutchie and an extreme flower lover! Can you believe it?!
Anyway, I was taking pictures and this small cute boy just came out of the flowers. I fell in love with him immediately!
