Travel

There are countless walking trails around the coast that will offer incredible views of the area, but a car will be the best way to get around Cornwall. You will need to make sure that your car’s tyres are in good condition to manage the country roads!

Notable Attractions

Cornwall is a large country with a lot to see and do, so it is helpful to know what some of the main attractions are. Port Isaac is a picturesque fishing village that encapsulates everything that is great about Cornwall in a small space while Watergate Bay is one of the best places for surfing. Newquay is a popular town and one of the most popular spots in all of the UK with its sandy beaches, independent shops, pubs and cafes making it somewhere for everyone. Truro and St Ives are both well worth a visit and can be quieter than Newquay. Additionally, no trip to Cornwall is complete without a trip to see Land’s End – it is a sight to behold at sunrise/sunset!

Best Time of the Year

As mentioned, Cornwall is a fantastic place for a summer vacation due to the weather. This is the perfect place for relaxing on the beach, ice cream, fish and chips sitting outside and hiking, but it can also be very busy in the popular spots. This is why spring could be a good alternative as it is quieter but still pleasant enough for outdoor activities. There is also something special about Cornwall in autumn and winter when it is a lot quieter but you can enjoy Christmas markets, cosy pubs and hot chocolate while roaming the streets of the towns and villages.

Cornwall is one of the most popular holiday destinations in the UK and it is easy to see why. It is arguably the best designation for beaches and watersports, but there are also charming towns and villages as well as beautiful countryside to explore.
