Why do you love travel?
I love to travel because I enjoy experiencing new places with all of my senses. Photographs do not do locations justice. I feel most alive when I am in a new place seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting things I have never had the opportunity to experience before. I love seeing God’s AMAZING creations. The world is SO diverse the only way to see it and REALLY experience it is to GO! I also love meeting new people and trying new things. I believe we can learn something from every single person we meet. To me, traveling is living and learning.
What destination is top of your bucket list?
Wow, just one? That’s tough. I really do not think I can choose just one. I’m currently finishing up a blog post with the top 25 destination on my bucket list! Ha ha How about I choose 5? Fiji, Antarctica, Zambia/Zimbabwe(Victoria falls), Borneo and the Galapagos.
Where is your most favourite place you have travelled to?
This one is tough as well. It would have to be a toss up between Iceland and Cozumel Mexico. Iceland was my #1 dream destination and it exceeded all of my expectations. I’m not a fan of cold weather but I would move there in a heart beat. Being there, I felt like I was on another planet. I’ve never seen so many landscapes in such a short time. During our road trip around the island we’d be by the beach one minute then moments later feel like we were on Mars. Did I mention the waterfalls? The colors? The bluest blues and greenest greens. Sooooo much to do too!!! It’s perfect!
Then there’s Cozumel. Where do i begin? Saving engaged baby sea turtles, Mayan ruins, warm weather, stunning beaches, delicious food, swimming with whale sharks. Need I say more? Lots more on both of these trips can be found on my blog www.worldworthwandering.com
What is your most favourite memory or experience whilst travelling?
My favorite memory was in the Bahamas. Seeing the joy in my daughters face the first time she jumped off a boat and snorkeled in the ocean with REAL life fish. I will cherish that moment my entire life. After snorkeling in the pool with fake fish for years and listening to her talk about doing it in the ocean one day, then seeing it become reality was just about enough to make my heart burst. What is your favourite photo from your travels?
This photo of my daughter was taken in the Bahamas right before leaving from a fun filled day of collecting sea shells, snorkeling with Rays in the wild, running from waves on the shore, digging for crabs, and building sand art. This was her saying “peace out” or “until tomorrow”
