Why do you love travel?
Well, it sort of picked us. I’m American and Anne is French. I moved from Thailand, and Anne from Amsterdam and we met in Dubai, where we now live, so you can say that without traveling none of this would have happened. We are keenly aware we only have a few good years on this Earth and we’ll be damned if we aren’t going to spend a good portion of it seeing this big ole’ world!
What destination is top of your bucket list?
We get asked this question SO much, and while the answers might vary from time to time, the first thing that comes to both of ours minds usually is “Northern Lights!”. We absolutely love Scandinavia so fully intend to go get lost up in the Arctic Circle sometime soon – and Iceland calls our name daily. Living in the desert we often dream of cold and snow haha.
Where is your most favourite place you have travelled to?
We booked our first trip together, to Thailand, after only knowing each other for 3 weeks so it will always hold a special place in our heart. I’ve lived there a couple different times and we are strongly considering moving back when we leave Dubai. Yes, Thailand is the cliche answer for so many travelers, but it isn’t a coincidence!
What is your most favourite memory or experience whilst travelling?
Last winter we booked a quick 48 hour trip to Sri Lanka on a weekend from Dubai. Leaving after work on a Friday and back Sunday night we amazed ourselves in just how much we could fit into a single weekend. It really helps to prove that no matter where you live an excited adventure is doable from anywhere – it also doesn’t hurt to have beautiful Sri Lanka on your doorstep. We’ll be doing a bit longer (4 days) trip to Zanzibar in a couple months and cannot wait!
