Justine – Wanderer of the World

Today we have Justine, who runs the fantastic travel blog for females, Wanderer of the World answer our Five Travel Questions. With her goal to visit 3 new places abroad every year, she’s the perfect candidate to tell us about her travels I think you’ll agree. Find out what she got up to in Finland!

Why do you love travel?

There are so many incredibly beautiful places in the world, both overseas and here in my home country of the UK. When seeing these new places, I get a pure sense of overwhelming happiness and a total rush to the head. If I had to describe the feeling to you, it would be like falling in love with every new place you see… now, that is just one reason why I love travelling. (I’m sure there’s more)!

What destination is top of your bucket list?

I think this would have to be Bali. Ever since reading Eat, Pray, Love as a student; I have wanted to go there. (Yes, okay that may be a little cliched now, but I genuinely mean it). I want to be able to discover a whole new meaning of meditation and relaxation; I want to swim and snorkel in turquoise waters; I want to sleep under the stars on a private island… can you just take me to Bali, like now?

Where is your most favourite place you have travelled to?

Easy – Hawaii! I’ve been lucky enough to spend some time on the islands of O’ahu and The Big Island – there really was so much to see and so much beauty about the place. We hiked through active craters; watched lava bubble and flow at night; visited tranquil Buddhist temples; watched the sunset and stars from 13,000 ft on top of Mauna Kea mountain and splashed around in the perfect blue waters. I completely fell in love with Hawaii and everything it stands for – you should get an idea of what I mean from these 36 photos.

What is your most favourite memory or experience whilst travelling?

This would have to be husky sledding in Finland. Finland was supposed to be purely a week’s worth of skiing, but we opted for a snow adventure day to mix things up a little bit and so we got to experience snowmobiling and husky sledding. The dogs were beautiful animals and were so happy to be out on the snow (but boy, were they loud)! This was a really fun experience and one I will certainly never forget.

What is your favourite photo from your travels?

This was my attempt at being a little “arty” by featuring this large rock in front of the bright green hills and murky waters of Ullswater in the Lake District, UK. Personally, I think it works quite well but this photo also shows just how beautiful the landscapes are in this part of the country. Well worth a visit, I’d say!
