Why do you love travel?
I love to travel because for one, it makes me really happy; it gives me the feeling that all is right with the world. Two, it gives me a fresh perspective on things, makes me see things in a different light than how I normally would if I just stayed home. Third, because I’ve always been interested in culture, and travel allows me to take a peek and learn the many fascinating cultures beyond what’s in my own backyard. And fourth, since I love to read, travel takes me to places that I’ve only visited in books before.
What destination is top of your bucket list?
I want to do a road trip through Ireland. That still needs a lot of research, but I hope to be able to do that soon.
Where is your most favourite place you have travelled to?
That would be Rothenburg ob der Tauber. I find it charming and interesting.
What is your most favourite memory or experience whilst travelling?
It’s taking that hike to Burg Eltz, and from the train station, no less. It was close to a 3-hour hike in the rain. The path was slippery and we had no idea where we were or if we were still on the right path. That was scary and fun at the same time. An added bonus was that we made friends with this German couple who gave us a ride back to our bed and breakfast in Cochem. That is one of the things I love about traveling—making friends along the way. All in all, a one fine day, and the memory still brings a smile to my face everytime.
What is your favourite photo from your travels?
I love this photo of Burg Eltz. Majestic and commanding, it’s like an image straight from a fairy tale book. I love this maybe because it reminds me of one of my favourite travel moments. Looking at it never fails to make me feel good.
