Why do you love travel?
I love traveling because it combines the 2 F’s for me: Fun and Freedom. I dig being free to see the world. I love having fun by embracing new cultures and enjoying the new sights and sounds I am treated to. Overall, travel is a joy for me. So I keep on globe trotting.
What destination is top of your bucket list?
An African Safari! I’ve scene some of the world’s most stunning destinations but going to Africa to see nature and its beauty enthralls me.
Where is your most favourite place you have travelled to?
Chiang Mai, Thailand is my fave place on earth, with Phuket and Bali right behind it. Chiang Mai is a paradise because you have a bit of everything in this peaceful spot. Urban living, great eats, fabulous culture with the many temples and the mountains and jungle are a hop skip and jump away from the center of town. Toss in a fabulous mall and you have quite the getaway for any traveler.
What is your most favourite memory or experience whilst travelling?
My favorite memory is the first time I landed in Bali. My world tour kicked off some 5 years ago, after a 23 hour series of flights from New York City JFK to Bali. I recall being slapped by a wave of humidity as I left the airport to being greeted by an army of transport/taxi drivers. I also remember seeing palm trees sway in the breeze as we left Denpesar to visit Sanur. Bali grabbed me the moment the plane touched down and it has never really let me go.
What is your favourite photo from your travels?
I have thousands of fave photos Tim but I’ll pick this one of me by the beach in Savusavu, Fiji. I enjoyed the peaceful surroundings and other worldly beauty of the place. From the planetarium type views at night to laid back people to the clear waters with insane visibility levels, seeing this photo brings me back in a heartbeat.
