The Bates Motel from Alfred Hitchcock’s 60’s classic, Psycho, has seemingly been dropped from the sky into the courtyard of the Royal Academy of Arts.
Cornelia Parker’s Transitional Objects (PsychoBarn), is based on The Bates Motel, while Hitchcock’s takes inspiration from the 1925’s painting, House By the Railroad by Edward Hopper. PsychoBarn was made from a disused barn (hence the name).
Standing at 30 feet tall, it certainly catches the eye from Piccadilly road, through the arches.
Here’s hoping they build the house from Up! next.
