Poppies at IWM – Weeping Window by Paul Cummins and Tom Piper

You can only imagine how long it took to place each and every poppy carefully in it’s place.

The sheer scale and size of the installation puts into perspective the number of lives lost during the First World War. Yet this is just a fraction on display, not all of the poppies are on display to represent the number of British or Colonial lives that were lost – 
888,246 in total.
