What to consider when buying an easyjet cabin bag?
- easyjet underseat size restrictions – in order to qualify for a free underseat luggage, it’s maximum size of 45 x 36 x 20 cm (including any handles and wheels) and weigh up to 15kg, although I’ve never seen easyjet staff test weight at the gate before, usually just the size. - Manoeuvrability – I’ve include 3 options in this list:
- No wheels/backpack – usually the largest capacity of the three options so consider this if you need to pack a lot. However, you should consider how heavy it will be carrying the luggage on your shoulders for a long time.
- 4 wheels – best for manoeuvrability, however this is a trade-off as the wheels tend to take up a little packing space. I’ve also compiled a list of the best underseat luggage with 4 wheels
- 2 wheels – consider this option a hybrid of the previous 2 options as it provides some manoeuvrability and doesn’t eat into packing space.
- Material – there are 2 options to choose from:
- Hard shell – usually made from ABS which can protect your belongings from impact and is lightweight (compared to other hard shell materials like polycarbonate.
- Soft shell – if often lighter than hard shells like ABS, but won’t protect your items from impact. That doesn’t mean soft shell material is cheap or flimsy, often it will be made from durable, non-rip polyester.
- Warranty – despite the low price, you can still find luggage manufacturers who offer 3-5 years warranty should something break.
