I’m currently dressed as Willy Wonka. Come with me on my tour of donuts, covering all flavours, shapes and sizes. I’ll also introduce you to relatives of the humble donut, cronut, duffin and churros.
Here are the most delicious donuts of London and where to find them.
Crosstown Donuts
There are many donut shops in London, but my absolute favourite is Crosstown Donuts.
Crosstown Donuts focus on unique combinations of flavours. Just look at the Crosstown Donut menu and you’ll see what I mean.
I’m making my way down the Crosstown donut menu. My top 5 so far are:
- Peanut butter and blackberry compote (vegan)
- Chocolate and orange (with real orange pieces under the coating)
- Lime and coconut (vegan)
- Dark chocolate truffle (yes I’m a chocolate fiend, so what)
- Rhubarb, raspberry and ginger (vegan)
Here are the photos I remembered to take before stuffing my face.

If you can’t get to one of their many shops around London, Crosstown Donuts also deliver. And if you’re looking for the perfect present for a donut lover, check out their donut gift boxes.

Vicki’s Donuts
Vicki’s Donuts always have the best themed donuts throughout the year.
These award winning donuts are hand made using free-range eggs, whole milk and contain no artificial preservatives or flavourings. It’s no wonder why they were voted best donuts in London by Time Out.
I loved their s’mores and passion fruit meringue donuts.

I’m looking forward to trying their lemon meringue pie donut next.

I’ve also been looking for donut holes in London after being hooked on them at Tim Horton’s on my visits back to Glasgow. I’m pleased to say my search is over. Vicki’s Donuts stock donut holes!
Oh and if you’re looking to send someone a message, why not spell it out with donuts?
If you like it, you should put a (doughnut) ring on it…
Or maybe a giant donut for £22 (£1 for every cm…)?

Doughnut Time are famed for their large and whacky creations.
Doughnut Time are always shaking up their menu, so you need to be quick if you have your eye on their latest creation.

You’re not imagining things and it’s not photoshopped. That is a Kinder Egg on top of my donut.

St John’s Bakery
What I love about St John’s Bakery is the amount of filling inside of their donuts which oozes out and their classic flavours of vanilla, strawberry and chocolate.

Gluten Free and Vegan Donuts in London
Gluten free and vegan foodies rejoice, you don’t have to miss out on the delicious fun!
Ruby’s of London started out as a stall in Greenwich Market in 2010, but have recently opened a store! Safe to say they’re experienced in the making of vegan and gluten friendly donuts.
If you’re not familiar with Ruby’s of London, they are a 100% plant based bakery, so you can feel good (or even better because baked goods make me feel good anyway) eating donuts, cakes and more.
If you xray’d me, you’d see my heart is donut shaped too.
Best Cronuts in London
Dominique Ansel Bakery
Ever wondered what would happen if a crossaint and donut got together? May I introduce you to the cronut.
There is simply no place better to have a cronut than the inventor/genius of the cronut, Dominique Ansel Bakery.
With a new cronut flavour every month, you have a reason to make return visits to Dominique Ansel.
Not that you need any more reasons. Dominique Ansel is also home to frozen smores and the cookie shot.
Sourdough Donuts in London
Bread Ahead Bakery
Love sourdough bread? Have you tried a sourdough donut?
Bread Ahead donuts are legendary for their overflowing filling. Bread Ahead’s salted caramel donut is one of my favourite donuts in London for the sheer fact it has a huge rock of crunchy salted caramel on the top!
Want to learn how to make their signature donuts? Check out their donut workshop at Borough Market. Other interesting courses offered include Norbic baking, New York bagel and pretzel making and gluten free workshop.
Best Duffin in London
Duffin I hear you say? Like the Stranger Things brothers?
Nope, duffins are doughnuts disguised as muffins. Like a doughnut infiltrating a muffin gang. Or something…
Anywho, duffins are shaped like muffins but have the texture of a donut.
Bea’s of Bloomsbury fill theirs with Nutella.
I don’t think I need to write any more about this doughnut, just drool over the picture.

Best Churros London
If you prefer your donuts in long form, might I suggest churros?
The Knot Churros
Churros isn’t just for Christmas market stalls. You’ll be stunned by The Knot Churros’ offering a variety of dipped and glazed churros. For summer months (heck why not treat yourself year round) why not accompany your churros with a side of ice cream?
If that wasn’t enough, treat yourself to an afternoon tea full of churros.
